After some severe bashing and waiting, ‘our’ new mirror-server is finally ready. It’s times like these you notice that 800GB is a shitload of data, especially if you have (relatively) slow mirrors to pull it from. Luckily, after a few tries, I found some mirrors both close AND fast, so the initial sync could finish within a day.

The result is a shining new mirrorbox, with thanks to a certain colleague from which I stole the rsyncscripts ;) Still got an awful lot of space left, so if there’s anything besides FreeBSD, NetBSD, Gentoo, Debian, Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL, LVS, kernel.org and CPAN that is worth the trouble mirroring, let me know :)
