New links
As the new NPE400 at Mirant was succesfully installed and working, we decided to move on to the next step. So, I configured another router, to be put on Seru Pretu and provide us with a DS3 to both Vredenberg and Mirant, and eventually making some other links obsolete. The trip itself was quite interesting. Since we’re using lots of wireless equipment, and offer various wireless services, we go for “The higher, the better.” This particular mountain is also used by 2 local telcos and a TV station which broadcasts to Bonaire. Anyway, quite high. And ofcourse, only the lower (inhabited) part of the area has proper roads. So we ended up at an old fence in the middle of some bushes, and basically went off-roading to the top. Too bad I forgot my camera, but I certainly will next time!
This installation went a little less troublesome, but after an hour of fiddling and cisco-ranting, we got it to do our thing. Next step: Get a shelf for the thing. Then, pull some plugs at IBM (Another building we have equipment in) :)
