It took a while, but as of today, I’ve got a working TV with actual channels on it. Some colleagues set up the dish for me, and a friendly neighbour borrowed me his decoder. Too bad the main reason I’ve tried to fix it is a few thousand miles away, but hey. :)

Sounds like a good way to learn Spanish as well: The Neighbour is from Colombia, and so is his sattelite stuff.. ;)
