Garden

Since my house is detached, it used to have a garden around it. Used to, as it was barely maintained since I’ve got here. Bad, I know, but it’s just not doable to work outside, in the middle of the day, in the burning sun, for hours, in the weekend. So, I asked my landlord if she knew someone that could do it for me. And so she did, the guy started today cleaning the mess. He did a pretty good job, although he didn’t have time to do it all in one day, so he’ll be back tomorrow. Funny thing, he only speaks the local language (Papiamento). I do not. Well, almost not. I know some words, and 2 phrases at most. One of which is “I don’t speak papiamento”, in Papiamento. But, I did understand him a bit. Called a colleague to translate and just make sure, who was impressed I understood a fair bit already ;)

Oh, and today I’ve been asked to visit St. Martin again and help out, probably somewhere next week. Yay!
