Oh shit. Apparently, it’s tradition here that companies buy one or more “Pagara’s”. My company had 5 of them, together with some other people in the same street. Fun to see everyone like little kids looking at the (big) boxes with explosives :)
Anyway, they started putting the stuff on the road, when the cops came by. One of my colleagues ran inside, worrying about the paperwork necessary for this.. But, the cop just responded “I don’t care about that, I know you guys. I’m just here to watch and have a drink!”. After that, he called in some more people, who nicely set up a roadblock to make it even more safe. And draw even more publicity, it started to get very busy!

I’ll fix some pictures later, in short, about 5m3 of fireworks on a road, made a lot of noise (and a terrible mess). But, it was fun to watch it for a while :)

Oh! New Years Eve is supposed to be very cool here, which makes sense, seeing how fond they are of the fireworks. We’ll see that soon enough, I guess!
